Lindy Hop is truly a community, in every sense of the word. Social dancing is a highly effective way to become connected to a group of passionate, diverse friends in your town and across the globe.

Local Dancing

Austin Swing Syndicate
Each Thursday night the Austin Swing Syndicate hosts a large dance and lesson, in fact, it's one of the biggest weekly dances in the country! They also host and help run many of the other dances and events in Austin.

Texas Swing Dance Society
The University of Texas (UT) has it's own Swing club! The Texas Swing Dance Society holds weekly classes and social dance practice at UT. According TSDS, they're "pretty chill, and for the hour following the lesson we hang out and social dance, chat about philosophy and politics (and pretty much whatever else), and go grab food nearby."

The Austin Lindy Exchange
This is one of the most popular exchanges in the country which happens each November. People pour in from all over the placy to dance with our amazing Austinites.

Lone Star Championships
Lone Star is a dance party weekend with dancing all night, workshops during the day, and competitions to inspire you! Check it out each January!

Austin Blues Party
Austin Blues Party is a great July 4th weekend event filled with blues music, classes, and fun!

Four on the Floor
Offers regular lessons each Tuesday night, as well as hosts and helps run many events in Austin.

Kick Butt Blues
Most Friday nights there is a great blues dance at Kick Butt Coffee - great atmosphere and fun!

Austin Uptown Dance
A great studio to learn all sorts of partner dances.

Go Dance
This is another great studio to learn all sorts of partner dances. They also throw a montly lindy dance on select Fridays.

The Continental Club
Here you can dance to hot jazz by Paris 49 every Monday from 6:30 to 8:30. It's a cement floor, so be sure to bring slippy shoes.

Bill Borgida
He is actually one of ours now! After years of saying he would, Bill has finally moved to Austin and frequently teaches in town.

Movin' Easy
They sell mostly ballet stuff, but they also have a pretty good selection of Aris Allens (lindy shoes).

Yehoodi Texas
The message boards here will keep you in touch with all the crazy dancers in Texas!
